I want to know what in the world was wrong with Rapunzel. If her hair was long enough for the prince to climb up, wasn't it long enough for her to climb down?

A Tribute to Friendship

Do you ever dream of having the kind of friend who always remembers the special things, days, dreams, words, wishes, wants and hurts in your life? The kind of friend who knows what you need before you ask? Who feels when something's wrong because she pays such close attention to the rhythm of your soul that she knows before she's told, and who not only knows, but then comes to the rescue? Someone who is secure enough in herself to let you shine when she knows that she is really the wind beneath your wings- the same person you think of and cry about when you hear that song? Who not only thinks of the coolest things in your life that you should and could be doing, but also knows how to do it? A friend that encourages, loves, laughs, listens, and waits...for you to figure yourself out, because she already has, sometimes at her own expense, and then welcomes you back with open arms?

I don't.

Southern (re)Belle

Okay, I was born in California. I admit it. But that's kind of the South, isn't it?
Fine.
I now live in South Texas, and have fully embraced the life of a true Southerner. Y'all think I'm kidding? I even know what an access deer is.

Of course, it took some getting used to. I remember when we came here to look at real estate, my husband commented on how interesting it was to have "such a big college so close to the neighborhoods," - our agent quickly corrected him informing us that it was, in fact,
a church.

Nor will I ever forget the day our movers showed up from L.A. to unload our belongings- a neighbor saw the trucks and came to the door with a 9 X 13 pan of homemade lasagna, a plate of chocolate chip cookies, and a pot of coffee. I remember hovering in the doorway patting my pockets, and saying, 'How much do I owe you?"

Did I mention that I voted for Obama?

Whatever.
